    Put some vice grips on the 3" that has slid out and twist and pull. Brute force is the key, but twisting while you pull will help.

    I can't see how it would be a fuel problem. I'd be looking at electrical issues or a crimped fuel line. See if it does it hooked up to a hose in the yard. That might help diagnose the issue.
