    What marks do you see? I see two clearly pictured detents on the dipstick. Both are obviously covered with oil indicating the oil pan is overfull Is there something about diesel engine crankcase oil monitoring you know that others don't?

Might be gen v but crossover/vintage inventory could be iv, won't know without pictures Good news for OP the dribbling venturis mean no harm to the (30 hr?) short block.     Cheapest route is to find a local, reputable shop to reseal the drive shaft housing. Most likely be charged the afore mentioned flat rate of 4 hrs, parts separate. Hopefully that'd include a decent inspection of the transom assy/drive r and r Heck, they'd probably find issues with the bellows too!
