    With the paper between the points and 12v to the + side of the coil, jump the points contacts quickly off and on , you must get a spark. Remove the paper, crank the engine ,you must get a spark. Spark in the 1st test and no spark in the second test indicates the points are not making contact...

    follow the purple wire. if you have 12 at the ign switch then go to the mail harness plug at the engine. pull it apart to inspect
