    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

I would agree that Moeller's strap points will be fine, its figuring out where on the boat that you will secure it that has me interested. Depending on your flooring, you might be able to do t-bolts through the plywood. I would stay away from anything just "screwed" for the amount of weight it...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

You are thinking along what I was thinking for support. Biggest thing is that center brace. Properly secure that to prevent it from bouncing would be a concern from me. Other thought on it is straps you are going to use, how many and where? I ask because (If I remember correctly) the 18...

Is it just me or are the tires slopped inward at the bottom? As for the bolts, can you use a carriage bolt or something similar? SHSU

    1988 Starcraft Mariner MR 220 V rebuild

Was the original design for a center console or did the PO modify it? As I have no measurements and if nobody else chimes in, you might be able to look at your stringers and piece together where there are extra holes. Should get you fairly close to original location. SHSU

The novice build: 1968 Starcraft SuperSport V-16 "The Boat"

My thoughts from what I see: 1: Remove original patch 2: Create an oversized patch that covers the entire keels width and then sum to rivet into good aluminum. Make sure the length also covers at least 6 inches extra on both sides to provide additional support. 3: back butter with 5200 4...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

I ran my fuel line under the floor and came up at the back bilge cutout. Just make sure you use an oversize fuel line (I used 5/8) to help with making sure you get plenty of fuel to your water separator then you can drop to the 1/4. As for the fill and vent, I installed the fill on top of my...

The novice build: 1968 Starcraft SuperSport V-16 "The Boat"

First things first, don't panic. Plenty of us here have run into the same thing. You need to get in there with a wire brush and clean out that area. Need to get a clear picture of what you are working with. From there we can provide recommendations on next steps as needed. The other areas...

    1978 22' V5 Super Sport CC

That's how I did it. I used a couple 2x4 with clamps for the flip. I think I used a couple blocks or screws to keep the hull shape in place once flipped so the hull wouldn't contorted as I worked on it, but can't remember for sure. SHSU

That is the best kind of First Mate, bringing the captain a beer!! When you go to do the coat it, make sure you do a scuff and wipe down before applying. Need to get the little coat of oxidation off for a good adhesion. That being said, good progress and way to go on convincing the park...

I didn't buy a ATS rivet gun, but a used airplane rivet gun will also do the trick. As @Mikesta suggested, I went with a x4 to drive 1/4 rivets too. You do have to be a little careful with the 3/16 rivets, but after some practice and dialing in your air pressure it will be easy. SHSU

    1974 Starcraft SS16 Restortation

@FIGMO , Yes, all the time, but as @mattsteg pointed out I needed a bigger garage to go that route. Admiral said "NO" and I couldn't convince myself to pay to store it somewhere else. I just have to drool and look on in envy at the guys with huge shops or work areas to do their boat projects...

If you are having a hard time removing with a grinder and wire wheel then I would leave it and paint over it. Can't beat that kind of adhesion to aluminum. The black stuff is probably easier to adhere to then aluminum anyways. SHSU

lol Ya, I found I had so many grand ideas but not enough boat for them all. I too did not have any permanent underwater lights. I just have flood lights and a green light I can throw over the side. Still great work!! SHSU
