    1974 Starcraft SS 22’ Transformation

Looking good. A lot of projects seems to take longer then originally planed. Our project started in March and I told the admiral I planned to have it done by July. I just didn't account it would be July 2 years later..... lol SHSU

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

Are you going to check for leaks or not bother? Gluvit seems like cheap peace of mind/insurance since you already have the flooring out and only takes 30 minutes to apply. Just my 2 cents... SHSU

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Like the aluminum sheet flooring for the tank. Only concern is the foam support under it. Overtime and bouncing, wont it compress the foam thus creating less support? I am probably overthinking it since it wouldn't be a point load but that is how my mind thinks sometimes.... SHSU

    1974 Starcraft SS 22’ Transformation

You will see a lot of guys have them. Only thing to keep in mind is not to over fill. If you start seeing grease on the interior of your wheel after an outing and you don't think your seals are bad, you are overfilling. Learned that the hard way.... That being said, I guess I would rather...

The flooring also acts as structural. Don't think edge cedar board would do what you want. SHSU

Very pretty!!! Will look even better once you get the blue painted as well. Trailer lights look really good. One thing I wish I had taken into account was easier swap out. I used fairly cheap Amazon specials and had to replace one light twice. While not terrible with current setup, almost...

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

I was able to get it to fit with a 1/4 spacer to account for the additional thickness of the floor. You can see what I did in post #645 https://forums.iboats.com/threads/1984-starcraft-16ft-glutton-for-punishment-splashed-july-2019.687763/page-33 SHSU

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

Just remember we are our own greatest critics. Once in the water, nobody will see the bottom. Leave mistakes and runs to dry if already started. Come back when they are truly cured (Not just dried), sand it smooth and paint over if needed. You will do great. If not, I don't mind being a...

Shoestring Starcraft SS160 Resto-mod - let the long slow road begin

Mine were wavy too. I just accounted for a 1/4 of slop on each side. So that gets us around 18 inches which is what @Moserkr had as well. For depth, I think it was closer to 4 - 4 1/2. If you look at the stringers they got taller the closer you get to the Bow. Depending on the reel, you...

I am glad my Admiral doesn't get on here much. Otherwise you would be getting me in trouble with the home projects you did. Looks really nice!!! SHSU

Really like that fuel tank build, any pictures showing support below? Looks like you got plenty of room for the piping. That would have been a lot cheaper if I could have done a permanent front deck and used a similar method design.... But happy Admiral is a happy ship!!! SHSU

Mine came with a ski locker in the center. I took it out and opted for a under floor fuel tank. The stringers are what you have to work between. According to my fuel tank planes, I accounted for 17.55 inches in width to sit between the stringers. SHSU

Move along!! How are you going to secure the flooring? Counter sunk rivets covered with epoxy or just leaving them exposed? SHSU

    22' Islander rebuild

Apologies if you thought I was out of line. Completely agree that a rusted or ill repaired trailer would not be something I would want to get under even without water in the hull. The argument has been made that it can also damage the hull. Either way, the information has been posted and...

I like the U-bolt idea better. The T-nuts are used to provide a "nut" that you can't get to. Used them for the seat bases. SHSU

    22' Islander rebuild

@Capt Spaulding For leaking testing, the best route, by far, is to take it to a lake and put it in while hull is empty. Otherwise, while I agree not the best method, filling hull has been used by many, including myself. Some precautions and adjustments can be made to do it safely if you...
