    21' Holiday Rebuild

Our boat is 5 ft shorter so it was a bigger impact, but I have my two house batteries up under the front seating area and my starter back by the motor. As others have said, the long run for a properly sized wire will cost but can be done. I used 3M 90 Spray Adhesive. Worked well for my...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

So I didn't glass, but if I did and doing what you are thinking, I might drill the oversized holes and fill/glass all at the same time. That way when I go to drill the small holes for the bolts I don't have to worry about drilling out and filling with epoxy waiting and then drilling again for...

    1988 Starcraft Mariner MR 220 V rebuild

Seeing that, I would just replace the entire transom sheet. As @MNhunter1 mentioned, you have a couple areas that would need more then just a "standard" patch. SHSU

7 x 16 ft?????? the pitting that bad under the foam? Never had the expanding foam in mine so can't say, but that seems like a massive amount of pitting. Is it true pitting or just the appearance as you haven't wired wheeled it yet? I only had a couple areas, and those I backfilled with JB...

    1988 Starcraft Mariner MR 220 V rebuild

For me, just use what you have on hand or can easily get. As long as you clean out the pitting and neutralize as best you can, back filling with JB Weld. You should be fine. That is just my 2 cents... SHSU

Mariner Center Console rod holder inserts?

Think these might fit the bill. https://lmrtackle.com/rod-holder-replacement-vinyl-insert.aspx Only saw the 30* insert here on iboats https://www.iboats.com/shop/tigress-replacement-vinyl-insert-30-176-9-black.html SHSU

I used many of their guns for different projects. Provides a decent finish for what we are trying to do and not break the bank. SHSU

Any pictures of the craters? I used Vinegar and Ketchup for minor ones too. I did try some rustoleum rust stop, but don't think it did any better then the vinegar/ketchup. SHSU

Ah, so these still leaked after the gluvit treatment. Are they the side rivets on the rib rivets that are leaking? SHSU

lol Don't we all. If you wanted, you could go and do a quick buck of every rivet... You going to back coat with Gluvit or similar? SHSU

    New Journey

Nice looking Motor Mount!!! Question, how are you pulling/moving the motor? I ask, because when I built mine I didn't take into account the front of my engine lift.... The support arm extensions got in the way. So it took some force and help from others to manhandle the last 6 inches...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

If the screws are original and in good shape, I would reuse them again too. As for TB3 vs 5200, I think for this application either works as long as you got some bleed out at the top to seal the wood. As for the number of rivets on the gunwales, agreed does feel stout as is. So unless you...

+1 with @MNhunter1 Countersink and fill in. If the rivet pops and breaks your epoxy you have bigger issues. (I am guessing you are sealing the whole sheet and not just the countersunk areas) SHSU

The wood screws, were they SS or just standard outdoor rated? I agree with your glue thought, I used 5200 on them. I followed what @Watermann did with his. Up to you if you want to or not. They lasted 40-50 years before you replaced with the original design. Depends on what you plan on...

Know anyone with a media blaster? I had the exterior and some of the interior done that way. I didn't have foam, but the media blaster should make short work of any as well. SHSU

    21' Holiday Rebuild

Ya, if I had known I was going to spend as much as I did on the rebuild I probably would have walked away.... That being said, I wouldn't change it and we love how it turned out. Plus I literally know every square inch of the hull/engine. So if something breaks I know how to fix it. SHSU

Can't hurt to try with power washer, but would still want to wire wheel back behind the foam. Want to make sure all the corrosion is out and no pitting is hidden under anything. SHSU

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

What!?!?!?!?!?! No Pictures!?!?!?!?!?! lol Man those look great!!! What length did you go for in the end? It depends on how it sits up front and if you let it get that low. As you get on plane the front end is going to be higher then the back, so your fuel will move to the rear. I have...

    1979 Starcraft 16’ SS Refresh

I didn't add any when I put ours back together. We haven't noticed an issue or noises but might also be because we have the front anchor cleat that goes through it and secures the aluminum straight to the wood. I like it!!! I would have done something like that if the admiral didn't want to...
