    could be any of the above. start at the gauge, read the ohms, check the connection, ohm out the wire, clean the connections at both ends of the wire, etc.

    check your fuel water filter for moisture. a batch of water will hit a cylinder and not fire. that cylinder will make a shudder.

    They have hard-cut rev limiters that will kill or significantly stumble the motor until you return to neutral to keep from breaking things. Cryo-treating the shaft will help, however you may start taking out gears
