    fuses are typically not involved with the backfeed of charging current /volts from the regulator the charge current goes from regulator directly to solenoid input B+ then goes back directly to the battery B+ see example of typical wiring from a MAX RULES site picture

    what AC do you see from the stator on 2 yellows ? does AC volts go up on yellows. Typically, AC will be rectified and regulated back to the battery via the red regulator red wire bridged on the fat red from the battery on the solenoid. . clean up up all connections. on the solenoid...

    agree.. I am just offering options for temperature alarming. personnaly I have never had a temp. alarm in 60 years of boating. noise smell and steam is usually enough to warn me.

    540 hrs is about 50 / year ... nothing to worry about if you keep giving it TLC. it should run fine another 20 years minimum (1000 hrs more) some ETEC have been run 2000 hrs new impeller every 3-4 years to be safe but I have gone much longer on my 75hp check gear oil mid season or minimum...

    ok if all else fails drill a " side" 1/8 hole in line with the rear latch mechanism... or just above it ..........spray wd40 or similar release agent with the plastic straw repair.. plug the hole with crazy glue and baking soda. put a piece of scotchtape on the outside surface...

    interesting to see how one can be so neglectfull as to let an investment perish beyond junk value.... a lot of oldies from the 60s look better than this one.! must be the salt.... 10c/lb sound reasonnable :-)
