    Mercruiser 3.0 Fuel Issues

Is this filter before the pump or after?? Regardless it's not coast guard approved. You should have a spin on filter bulkhead mounted before the pump. The pump on a 3.0 has a filter in it already, so another one is really not needed except for water separating purposes. How about a pic of your...

1970 River Queen Houseboat new owner here!

Good plan. A good shop should be able to check out the tanks and entire fuel system for abyc/coast guard requirements.

    Odd running behavior

She's running lean, try adjusting as stated above. If ya can't get it to run better, you either have a carb/fuel issue, bad plugs/wires, or vacuum leak.

    Transmission Spewing Water

There is a pre-load setting for that type of box. You would have to look up the brand, and specs for it. To tight will destroy it, too loose and it will leak. Edit. I have to ask, you stated that it was repaired at a shop before, they must have set it up wrong of it was leaking that badly. Also...

    Transmission Spewing Water

That appears to be a v-drive. And a dripless stuffing box. A dripless should not leak like that unless it's not set up correctly, as in pre-load. Regardless, the leak seems to be out of the flywheel area, as stated before it might be a core plug. Get that selfie stick down there and have a...

I use a selfie stick alot. You can get right under the motor and see whats going on. Keep the phone dry with saran wrap or a ziplock bag.

Leak testing an empty aluminum hull?

If you know the weight of the motor, add that same weight to the stern area so it sits sort of like it would when under normal situations.

okay out of the box idea guys, let's get crazy

Sorry if I offended you. We are just trying to come up with a plan of sorts to figure out your particular boating situation. No need to shoot down suggestions. Regardless, it might be possible to add the weight to the bow and the stern might rise, hard to predict. I know a couple of boaters that...

Leak testing an empty aluminum hull?

You can back it in at the ramp and check it on the trailer. Some weight in the hull won't bother unless you toss bricks over into it.

okay out of the box idea guys, let's get crazy

Good response by Sprig. Also if the drive is a pod drive, there is no way to trim it up. If its shallow water, a thruster or trolling motor may not help. That pod drags bottom and you are basically beached/stuck.

Do you park your vehicle straight into your garage or back in?

Well inside like that, they should run lp lifts, or electric. I believe OSHA requires it.

    Antifouling outdrive

Before you do, have it serviced, pull the drive and make sure everything is in good order. I hate it when they come in with fresh paint and have to pull them and service them.
