    but did he inspect the water intake cavity below the impeller plate ? . Any accumulated silt would impeded incoming water flow into the pump impeller cavity of the pump.... just asking... my old Merc 50 had a loose grommet floating around in that cavity ....??? drove me nuts...

    also...see Leroy's on part 25 & 27 possible blockage in part 25 also ..reread your post #1... dealer adjusted the carb.... "the carb looked fine" but was the carb ever taken apart for a full soak and clean-up of all passages...then adjusted

    adjusting the idle could be as simple as adjusting the idle screw on the carb (fat slotted screw top left side of the carb) could be crud in the gas water etc... clogging the LS needle setting (unscrew it ... ... blow carb cleaner in the LS channel blow air reset the idle...

    btw... I would ask that mechanic what his compression #s were after the $325 head gasket job , seal, gas pump job???? surely he retested compression #s to check out his work ???? you indicated not being a mechanic but just out of interest you may what to read the attached topics...

    I would just run it with a decarb product or engine cleaner PSI might pick up some and you'll have a good troller .

    the fact that 2 events are not occuring no selenoid click and no warning buzzer ....would normally indicate that a common problem is present .... that being the absence of 12V into the switch since . as per the diagram +12v goes to the B post and a quick voltage test should confirm...
