BTV Bayliner Single Axle Trailer - Over-run / Inertia Brakes?

reading the UK regs, the only thing that surge brakes / disc or surge brakes / drums do not have that is required is the mechanical park brake I do not believe the break-away feature meets that requirement. the hydraulic surge brake head with the break-away feature does meet all other...

    Exhaust smells like paint thinner

I have bought fuel from the local gas station that was bad and already turned to varnish. Fuel has only so many weeks between refining and burning prior to it going bad.

you would still loose money. Free boats cost the most to restore. they are in-fact more expensive than a fully running boat that you must take a loan out for to expand. the motor in there is a 470. utter rubbish the drive was an MC-1 the floor is rotten along with the transom and stringers...

BTV Bayliner Single Axle Trailer - Over-run / Inertia Brakes?

no, but a mechanical park brake caliper added to a bracket on the same disc would meet the requirements of the mechanical park brake and hold on the 18% grade that is required.

Reality of maintenance costs of a Cigarette Boat

A good friend of mine owned a few. the down side is the engine overhauls about every 200-400 hours. the high performance nature means they eat valve train. especially if you run at WOT often compare that to 4000 hours for a non-performance run-of-the-mill I/O motor that should cover...

    Kicking around another hair-brained idea

our neighborhood has a ton of golf carts running down the road. many with kids way too young to be on the street (another matter) while I think of a pedestrian golf cart, some of the stretched ones, or some of the jacked-up top-heavy ones we see daily.... none of them appeal to me or the wife...

    Waste storage tank

welcome aboard. agreed with Bondo, normally you must cut the deck apart to get to grey and black water tanks if only needing to spend the 45 minutes pulling the drive to pull a motor to get to the tank, consider yourself lucky. clean the bilge while the motor is out.

    Idling

first, welcome aboard what are the compression numbers across the board when was the last time you serviced the carbs? the boat should idle until you run out of fuel. nothing to do with age. all about maintenance and condition

Bad 1970 Mercruiser Engine, Please tell me there is still hope.

Ft Licquordale (Lauderdale) is geared toward big white boats (yachts) conversions that work are few and far between if you want it up and running quickly with minimal work, look for a complete pulley to prop longtail follow Chris's comment, however i would start with a running motor I would...

Short wheel base vehicles absolutely suck as tow vehicles. Big boats require longer wheel bases Doesnt matter if you put 411s under a jeep, wheel base is too short The tail will wag the dog
