    the muffs cover the intake holes and force water up to the impeller however if you dont have the hose on full, you can burn the impeller the water should be spraying out from around the muffs until you start the motor

    look under the cap. most likely breaker points if so, then service the breaker points, rough gap to 0.018, set dwell to 30-32 degrees

    no, different generations of drives, transom shields and motors your 1996 Searay should have a Gen VI motor with a post 1992 Bravo your 1989 Maxum may be an alpha drive, the motor is a Mk 4, and the drive/transom shield, etc. are pre 1992

    you didnt answer the question. if you attempt to put the outdrive in a bucket, the bucket has to be big enough to get the whole boat in it to submerge the raw water pump far enough for it to prime. not just cover the intake, however get the watter above the pump otherwise you simply burn up...

    welcome aboard if you have a bravo, you could swap to a complete BBC bobtail you also need the y-pipes from a big block as the motor is about 4" wider than the small block or you can also go to a 6.2 liter long block and just swap the 377 for the 350 which would be the easiest

    original distributor would be points distributor. hence the purple resistor wire from the run feed and the purple/yellow wire going to the I/R terminal on the starter for the start feed. so what ignition system do you really have?
