    Best Anchor light setup?

International law and USCG col regs trump anything from the corrupt state of Illinois. Look up the navigation requirements for lighting and follow them. If you have a bimini, your anchor light must be higher

Can you start these in cold temperatures out of water?

first, you bought a 43 year old boat. assume the transom and stringers are rotten second, what is a "blow out diagram" ? prior to starting that inliner, you will need to make sure the points are serviced. you will also need a good flow of water from your garden hose

    Milky madness

you incorrectly assumed that did absolutely nothing to remove water all that did was melt your raw water pump housing because you ran the pump without water and it burned the exhaust flappers out of the y-pipe and burned the inside of the exhaust hoses. the ONLY way to get water out of the...

    L6 Mercruiser simplified engine wiring

by the way, if you re-organize the wiring and lay the parts out exactly like they are in the boat. you will realize you have the same number of wires and connections as the factory harness. you have simply overlooked the two connectors in the gunwale harness. the one back by the motor and the...

    Engine height on Offshore repower.

with outboards, its more like 1" up for every 4" of setback (at least from reading on scream and fly) however you do need to test, and this is where a vertical jack plate pays dividends.

Converting 5.0 mpi to closed cooling

Dont worry about the motor. In 10 years the block will be rusted thru Yes, you already have too much salt buildup and rust to put an HX on To put a HX on your boat, you will need a new block and heads and intake. Run the boat as is, enjoy it as is, then sell it and buy a boat with an HX

    Bilge rot.

ALL fiberglass boats with wood sub-structure rot. ALL fiberglass boats with engineered sub-structure suffer joint failure after about 15-20 years All fiberglass boats have a 15-20 year design life yes, the wood covered stringers and the transom in older fiberglass boats is prone to rotting...

    No Start, but should

your distributor may be pointing to cylinder #1, however its pointing to it on the exhaust stroke, not the intake stroke. pull dizzy, turn motor over 360 degrees and re-stab on a 3.0, a few degrees advance will cause detonation under load.
