Anyone use synthetic nylon winch cable? Or anything besides steel?

Every synthetic rope comes with a rope cert (so does certified steel) You may want to look at your steel cable rating and understand working and breaking strength there too. We went from 1/4" cable to 6mm Amsteel (increase in strength going staunless cable to dynema), because the LAME code...

Anyone use synthetic nylon winch cable? Or anything besides steel?

Amsteel blue is the common rope (line of dynema, not color) Used a lot of it up to 7/8 at my last job. Used the dynice dux up to 25mm as well (about 50% higher breaking strength than the Amsteel Blue) teufelberger dynema is in between

    Cracked spark plug porcelain-timing?

87 up TBI small valve. I would not go out of my way to buy them, however if you got them free (yes, free), and then took them to a machine shop to freshen, you would have about $350 in them. Otherwise call around to some good machine shops and not your neighbor and get a good set of vortec...

Need help identifying stringers for though hull location

yes, on your 2017, the "curved areas" are the engineered stringers. you will be fine where you are putting your thru-hull. not sure why you think the B3 water inlet stinks its been proven on motors with 3x your current HP.

Anyone use synthetic nylon winch cable? Or anything besides steel?

im using 10mm dynice dux. linear strength with a splice is 12.5 metric tons. running a brummel on the spool and a traditional eye splice on the hook end. using a 1500kg load, 100mm wichard hook. when a synthetic rope snaps, it just falls to the earth. when a steel cable snaps, it cuts...

    73' mercruiser rewire

the motor itself appears to be on borrowed time if there is a crack on the outside of a 2.5/3.0, there most likely is a crack on the inside.

    5.0l mercruiser 2003 670 hrs puffer

agree on the compression numbers and leakdown test stock valve seals on GM motors really do suck. I would simply swap them ($30 plus your time) takes a screw style valve spring compressor or pull the heads and have them refreshed at about $150 each.

Chrysler 318 bellhousing for Volvo 270

no, there isnt a volvo housing for the chrysler motor you can run an adapter, but why. sell what you have, buy what you need I personally would jump to a volvo 290DP or a DPA over the 270 drive and probably run a decent 5.7
