    I wasn't worried about being in cool. I thought it was too hot trolling. A guy just told me that he's seen them get as hot as 170F and it running around 160F at idle and 185F at the bottom of the block. When it's reved up it's in the low 120sF. That's with muffs on not in the lake.

    I have a 2000 25hp 3cylinder Johnson. New thermostat last year and new water pump today . When it's just idling I can only hold my hand on the block for 10sec max. When it's running opened up it's not hot all. Any ideas or should it be getting that hot?

    Mine trolls right down. I actually have to give it a little bit of throttle because it's too slow some days. It's on a 14ft lund.

    I have a 2001 Johnson 25hp 3cylinder. Bought it about 10yrs ago. I did have to change the power pack once and it was expensive like 300 I think. Other than that just impeller and plugs. It gets used a couple times a week from may to November. Mostly trolling. I'm pretty sure from 96 to 2001...

    Coil Testing.

    Pull the plug wire off the spark plug when running. If there's no change in the way the motor is running then that's your bad coil. The motor should bog down when you pull the plug wire.

    1995 25hp Johnson 2 stroke, what are the best years for the 25 hp?

    I haven't had to buy much yet. Except for the power pack which was very expensive. I got a new aftermarket one on ebay but it was still like $200. That was 4yrs ago. I changed the impeller too.

    What's wrong with the 3 cylinder? I've had a J25TEL3SS for a while now and use it about 3times a week and it's been great. Troll all day and not quit once. I'm just asking because if there's issues I would like to know?

    It was this but I don't think they sell it anymore. I got the motomaster stuff, wow $26 for a ltr. I think I paid $12.99 a couple yrs ago for the other stuff. Maybe 3yrs but still that's crazy.

    I changed my lower unit oil today but the oil I had was multi purpose and there wasn't enough to fill it all the way I don't think they have it at Canadian tire anymore. What kind should I get. It's a 2000 25hp 3cylinder Johnson.

    Plugs look good?!

    No issues, I just thought I should change them and just was wondering if that is what they should look like with that kind of use. 95 percent of the time is trolling too.

    I have a 2000 25hp 3cylinder Johnson. These plugs have been in since last may. Motor gets used once a week for about 3hrs except from December to April. I think they still look good but I changed them anyway. Do you guys think they look like they should with that kind of use?

    Would there be anything different between the 2000 and 2001? Or would all parts be the same for both years?
