    Ayuh,.... The feed side should be coming from the motor side of the t-stat, either from the block drain as AD mentions, or on my Merc, there's a 1/2" pipe plug in the intake manifold water tube,.... The pipe plug in the circulating water pump, is for cold water return,.....

    Ayuh,..... Donno, but I would just run a pipe tap in to clean it up, 'n the run in a pipe plug, or sensor, with abit of perfect seal on it,..... Just don't run the tap in to deep,.... clean the threads, don't cut fresh threads,....
