    The 209 are “clunky” and slow, at best. In that class, I’d go with the Penn 320 GTi. A real workhorse. One of Penn’s most under rated reels. Parts are still widely available. You can find them on eBay for less than $50. You’re going to have “digging” issues with #30 braid on a level wind...

    Sissies.....one of their drivers refuses to pull in the driveway if the dog is outside. Throws packages from inside the truck towards the mailbox at the end of the drive. The regular driver brings bones and throws the ball for the dog a couple of times before he leaves.

    Why a full weekend to fish 2 hours away? It's exactly 100 miles (2 hours) to my favorite fishing hole from home. Leave the house at 4 am. Have the boat in the water by 6:15. Lines in the water by 7 am. Fish until 2 pm and still be home in time for dinner at 5 pm.

    I would not hard mount a connector. Sooner or later water/condensation will get in and compromise the connector. I would install a waterproof connector on a pigtail of sufficient length to be able to store it inside the boat

    The dacromet coating is cosmetic at best. Does nothing to prevent rust on the braking surfaces or to prevent the piston from seizing up from water getting behind the boot.

    The dacromat costing in the disc area is gone the first week you use them. Make sure you run ceramic pads. My first two sets of dacromat calipers lasted roughly 5 years each. Switched to Kodaguard this go round
