    I have the studs from the old motor Would i be ok with using whats in the pan? or would you use the one with studs i could cut the one out of the pan.

    as you can see the pan has some sort of tray built in what one should I use ? It has to be one or the other the one built into pan fits with my dip stick. The other one i would just have to cut a hole in it.

    Found a crank bolt that fits oil pump installed. Now the question is the oil pan I had to use is automotive It has a built in baffle already. Should it keep it or cut it off and use the one from old motor bolts to the end of the rod cap bolts.

    Ran into a slight issue while putting it together today. The crank bolts from my old 350/305 dont fit this motor.. to small in diameter. What other size crank bolts did they use? motors technically a 1973 ish block number#3970014

    I have another pan off a older 350 that bolted up but I did not pay attention to the dip stick as I have not installed it yet hopefully it works.

    Thanks for the info the carb it came with was a quadrajet but its shot have to find aother one or a diffrent carb setup. Basically the boat sat witht the engine uncovered for a long time.

    This is the numbers on the cylinder heads Only set of good heads I have they where low hour from my old boat. Would i be fine using these with the 305 cam/push rods or do I need to just buy new 350 rods.?

    Yes the 305 cam is marine I will get the numbers off of the heads i plan to use they are non vortec I am building this thing on a budjet. It is not a high dollar boat but need it to run decent thanks for the input this far.

    My 1997 wellcraft had tank in that spot also yea it is empty the rest of the boat is basically **** only buying it for the trailer and motor since it runs good once i confirm its a 350 guy is selling it crazy cheap.

    I am going to look at a parts boat saturday Id be buying it for just the motor dumping the rest the guy does not know if its a 305 or a 350 and says the serial number on bellhousing isnt there. So how exactly can i tell if its a 305 or a 350? Hoping its a 350 below is pic of motor.
