    Manifold/riser 3.0 mercruiser

Ok thanks. Actually the engine got hot. So there was no water in the old oil. It had a grayish color to it. Not milky at all.

    Manifold/riser 3.0 mercruiser

Yes it was higher. The engine originally got hot. I know it could be the block, head, head gasket, or manifold/riser. I was just unsure of how a manifold could let water in. I mainly wanted to know if the manifold could leak water into the engine while it was running, because the oil was new and...

    Manifold/riser 3.0 mercruiser

I have a 3.0 mercruiser that is getting water in the oil and I know it could be a few different things. I’m in the stage of dissecting it now. I put new oil in it and ran it on muffs for about 15 minutes, shut it off checked the oil and it was a mud looking color. My question is, can someone...

    1986 3.0 mercruiser

The engine got hot and is now getting water in the oil. Is there a way to test to see if it’s the head gasket, head, or block without tearing it down one by one? Maybe a way to pressure test that will help determine?

    Chevy 305 mercruiser

I have a Chevy 305 that ending up getting so much water in the oil that it started spitting oil out of the dipstick. What’s the best way to check the head gasket and block without tearing it all apart first? Is there a way to pressure test the whole engine to help determine where I need to...

    2024 wake pro 230

I changed the coolant before storing it last fall but I spoke with a dealer and they said they run a summer blend coolant and it only protected down to like 20 degrees? I am going over it for the summer and I’m not finding anything that says that. Does anyone know? The orange coolant came out of...

Rough idle and dies when put in gear

Im and hour from the boat so it will be a bit before I can get the RPM. It’s been atleast a couple years with the tune up. It is carbureted. It may be just a coincidence that it started acting up after they reinstalled the motor but I believe the 2 are related I’m just not sure where to start.

Rough idle and dies when put in gear

It idles bad both warm and cold intermittently. Always runs strong otherwise down the lake. Problem always is idle and trying to get it in gear and then it dies. Doesn’t do it all the time though.

Rough idle and dies when put in gear

I have a 1998 mercruiser 305 and the engine was removed to repair some power steering issues and now occasionally it idles rough and dies when going into gear. Any ideas at what I should be looking for? Thank you.

    Mercruiser 305. Water in cylinder.

Thank you. It is actually a friends boat and it was cylinder 6. He has used it all summer and it just started acting up over 4th of July weekend so I don’t think it’s freeze damage.

    Mercruiser 305. Water in cylinder.

One day on the water the boat starting missing and would only get on plane occasionally, but had this terrible tapping coming from the driver side of the engine. Sounded like a lifter tapping. Got it in the shop and pulled the valve cover to make sure the rockers were not working their way...

    2003 Chapparal

We’ve looked under and all around the dash on starboard side and can’t find anything. I just figured chaparral ticked it away in a weird spot.

    2001 Crownline alarm

Do crownline boats have a delay switch for the alarm? (Doesn’t power it up for say 60 seconds) So when you turn the key on the oil sensor doesn’t automatically go off because it has no oil pressure until the engine is running?
