    Artificial Intelligence parts finder

The 30 something year old faucet in my shop's bathroom started dripping, so I took the old valve stem and seat/spring down to the local Ace hardware to see if I could find the parts.....had no idea what brand or model the faucet was. The Ace guy took a pic of the stem using their app.....the...

How to take out rounded drain plug on force 85? Is there a way to drain without taking it out? Like pumping out the fluid maybe?

Could maybe use an extractor a little larger than the stripped out hole, tap it in, twist it out. Corrosion shouldn't be an issue, being a lube plug.

How to take out rounded drain plug on force 85? Is there a way to drain without taking it out? Like pumping out the fluid maybe?

It may be the type that uses an allen wrench to remove.....not a slotted type.

1989 85hp removed lower gear pivot screw

Might get lucky and get it back in.......but most have had to take the gear box apart to fix it. Long ago I had a screwdriver on that screw, thinking it was the drain plug.....but figured it out before screwing the pooch. Many have done it.....not the end of the world....just a lot of extra work.

1972 Chrysler 85, Tolletson carburetor tuning

That link I posted is probably the most important one on this forum......it's not a video and is easier to follow......ten steps to success. I keep a printed copy in my factory manual for easy reference. My manual says to set timing at 32 degrees.....the 30 degree setting came about to...

1972 Chrysler 85, Tolletson carburetor tuning

That link I posted is called a "link n sync".....it gives an orderly method of setting up the carbs and timing.....I would follow that post to the letter in the order given. It sets up the engine to achieve good idle and full rated RPM. (y) To find 30 degrees you can get a new timing sticker...

    1983 Force 50 hp Parts

If you have part numbers, look on ebay....you might find a parts manual for your motor there too. If not, marineengine.com and Crowley have exploded parts diagrams with most part numbers listed and they carry some of the parts. Franz marine is a good source for parts and info...as well as...

    Questions about trims

I see this is the second time the floor has rotted. Putting a new deck over rotten structure is cosmetic at best. I would drill some core samples in the stringers and transom just to be sure. If the wood shavings come out dark and wet....you got rot. If light colored and dry, probably ok...

    Questions about trims

I would bet that motor is toast......also, if the boat is the same year as the engine, 1976, and been sitting outside uncovered for 47 years, with a rotten floor.....then the stringers and transom are probably rotten too. Assuming this is an old fiberglass boat....they rot from the bottom...

Was it sitting outside uncovered with the cap like that? Looks really corroded in that pic.......https://forums.iboats.com/threads/awakening-a-sleeping-outboard-by-boatbuoy.158032/ Check out this link for the rest of the motor, since it sat for 27 years.
