    If it helps your diagnosis , I think your motor has a "waisted spark " ignition . One coil with two leads.....the coil fires twice per cylinder per Revolution , when one cylinder is at tdc the other is at bdc ,the coil fires both plugs ....the one at tdc will fire the fuel mix and make power...

    35hp choke linkage hookup?

    Doesnt it fit into the semicircular recess to the left of the choke pivot shaft . Then tighten the pivot nut on other end of spring with it positioned so as to spring the choke plate back into position .

    Looks like you had a good day . That big one would have given you a decent scrap ? This is what we call Bass in nz ....totally different and usually caught in hundreds of meters depth and its more like winching up a dead weight as they give up when the barotrauma hits them ....not much point...

    I think its more about what the engine is designed to do . An R1 yamaha has 200 hp (@13500rpm) at the wheel and is only 998cc , spec 10 or 15w40 full synth , a 225hp honda outboard is 3.6 L for about the same hp @ 5-6000 rpm and uses 5 or 10w30 .....it aint even about bhp / litre.

    Yeah ok what revs is your boat doing at 75 mph.....all day, and anyhow its not about the revs . If you over rev anything it will blow up and if you under rev anything it wont make rated power. If one of my motors needs 5w oil thats what it gets , doesnt matter if its peak torque is 4 grand or...
