    if your primary on-board tanks are dirty, assume the dirt is now stuck in the anti-siphon valve, the carb, and other places. you may have to go thru your carbs

    you will need to get a complete helm and cable kit as most likely any cable style from today will not match up to the 55 year old parts you have. you will need to pull the old cable to measure . do you have a rack or rotary helm?

    I would pull the elbow every few years to inspect the elbow and the manifold do you flush after use? that will extend the life of the elbow and manifold (still inspect every few years)

    its safer to pay to pump out. its unlawful to discharge any black water tank in the great lakes no mater what state you live in. if you had a removable porta-potty, you could dump it yourself easily.
