Pontoon Questions: Jacking it up while on trailer? & What's this called?

I would not jack it anything beyond what it takes to raise it and place a support. I can't tell how high you can jack the rear of a pontoon using that end bulkhead before something "gives " there is longitudinal support from the toon itself and from the decking but what the bend point is is...

why I still prefer gauges in my cars

I know of stepper motors. I have not pulled my '08's panel, and I'm sure it receives a "digital "signal . But , after start up, my gauge climbs slowly, and I mean slowly, until it gets to the 210 F mark....which is the center. Just like my '77 monte did. The needle settles down at a "fixed"...

why I still prefer gauges in my cars

not my '08. it's a real analog gauge. So is the thermostat, no electrical connection at the housing either. 10 minute job not counting refilling the system.

why I still prefer gauges in my cars

it's a get home hack that might work. depends on the situation.

why I still prefer gauges in my cars

yep, same with cars 'cept that a good, fairly inexpensive, bi-directional scanner can be bought for them. not for my Merc.

why I still prefer gauges in my cars

it is not.....I have owned the truck since new....have hauled my boat with it since owning the boat from 2016/17 on....and have towed it to this lake from 2018 on....and back and forth from the marina in essex Md., since 2023. The gauge gets to 210 and stays there.....always.......until now...

why I still prefer gauges in my cars

I noticed a few weeks back in my '08 silverado that the temp gauge was reading slightly below the normal setting since new. Suspected the thermostat, but put it off as maybe an age thing....wrong guess. This coming Friday is the yearly trek to Raystown Lake (about a 2 hour haul). So I run down...

Pontoon Questions: Jacking it up while on trailer? & What's this called?

    1. - no, you'll bend it. 2. - that's the bottom of your motor pod. It is not structural...you'll most likely collapse it. 3. - yes..that can work. The ribs (C channels) are a good support structure. And the 2x6 spreads the load. Furthermore: the toons are normally built in welded sections. Each...

    Sam Neil

met: (all on my plane) Hal Halbrook - low key, unassuming. Asked what the delay was about and was very respectful. Cliff Robertson - really a nice guy, we talked about his movie "The Pilot". One of the better "airplane themed" movies. Leslie Nelson - flight attendant (who didn't know who he was)...

Battery switch only for motor circuit?

I have a 2 battery setup on my pontoon. "OFF" is off. Ignition/key switch has no power. I don't have a bilge so don't need a hot wired pump.

Should I change prop pitch/ go to stainless.

my point exactly. levity and a sense of humor can get lost in text only, even while making a tongue-in-cheek subtle point.

Should I change prop pitch/ go to stainless.

"I am not sure if I could make any difference in speed or performance maybe even fuel efficiency but I would like the members comments and feedback on my boat prop?" ." It has a 4 out of 5 rating with retailers that sell it." it appears there is more significance paid to retailers/advertiser...

    Do it yourself Pumpout?

my marina sucks out my porta potty and lets me fill/rinse it multiple times. And also simple unclip/clip the two sections and the lower section unclips from the floor. It's a "free" service....😉

HELP - Mercury Motor Won’t Start - Carburetor is suspect

you gonna need to pull the carbs most likely. You can try partial dis-assembly while mounted ...removing adjusting screws, bowls, etc. Lay a rag underneath to catch small parts and then using carb cleaner through all the passages....might get lucky. Does the cowling have " insulation"...foam...

    2005 Chaparral Signature 290 - Repowered

recommended max rpm @ WOT is the main goal when propping. Most, if not all, props have diameter and pitch #'s stamped on them. Here's the sticky as a guide.

    new to pontoons

eh...yea...kinda. An over-weight airplane can fly ok....but you're putting yourself into a test pilot role as published operating airspeeds limitations do not apply. That can be taken into account and adjusted for, such as when returning to the field immediately after takeoff. But a CG out of...
