    Boat is a 21.5 fiberglass cuddy with a 150 Johnson. I'm looking at a late 80's 15 hp mercury Short shaft as a kicker for trolling. I measured 20 inches from transom top to bottom, next to the 150 where it will mount. There doesn't seem to be a lot of room in the splashwell area, I'm thinking...

    I'm wanting to replace the bilge drain tube in a 85' fiberglass transom that's holding a 150 Johnson. My thought is a brass one. (Don't mind buying the crimp tool) it has a metal one now. Is there a better choice? Any tips?

    Yep, hoarder. The Admiral always gives me what for when I bring another junk home 😣 Landfills can be pricey. Finally found 2 that are reasonable, about 50 miles away. With questionable trailer, not best choice. And they want the oil and gas drained.

    I keep an eye on CL for free boats with trees growing out of the deck. Pull the top off the outdrive to check for rust or pitting on the gears before agreeing to take. Then take any other parts from boat I want and the rest goes to landfill. Worst part is pulling that rotting trailer around...

    Update: Works great after repairing old prestolite. New service manual showed how to full field to confirm bad alternator. Manual also described how to test diodes, all 3 positive bad. $20 for diodes and brushes. 14+ volts now. Installed new regulator even though old one was still working.
