    Should I attempt the (to) lengthen the exterior shift cable on the motor? ...? disconnect that shift cable and test the motor on it's own if ok then mess with the shifter cable adjustments

    modern coils have a screw like HV pin on the coils... make certain you screw in the new plug wires the fulll depth of the screw pin itself about .5 inch deep . apply a dab of dielectric grease and slide the "rubber sock" over the coil plug boot to either primaty wires you...

    remove the water tube from the lower end (pump grommet) with the LU out take a flashlight and look up the into the engine and try to insert the water tube in the PH (put some grease on the tube to aid insertion in the top ) rotate the tube to line it up with the pump grommet...

    Certain it is a TN26..... ?? .my understanding is that magnetos with those coils started with TN27 which I have one in the shed... (make certain coils line up on the base edge (see picture) I purchased it years ago BECAUSE it had standard coils like you have there T(X) experts will chime in
