Unfortunately, Yamaha has to be this way. A customer misunderstands what he is being told to do, does something that is screwed up, which might cause damage, and he wants to blame Yamaha.

Turn over to me means a motor being cranked (rotated) so as to start. As opposed to a motor that will crank but not start. Or which might crank and start but not run.

The F50TLRD alternator is rated at 17 amps. Some of which is used by the motor itself.
If you were to put an ammeter on the battery cables I doubt you will ever see north of 10 amps. With lead acid batteries. I suspect that you would see more than that with a lithium battery.
Only solution I can think of is to use a lithium battery. It can accept more of the electrical power that the alternator is capable of providing, more quickly. Whereas a lead acid battery will draw less current at any given time and thus take longer to get charged back up.
If the shift cam is removed without the lower unit having been dismantled a spring loaded pin normally moves forward preventing the cam from being reinstalled.

That gauge should work. Won't be plug and play however. You will just have to figure out how to get the pink wire from the sender to the harness and to the gauge.

If you look at your tachometer you will see the orange wire. With power and ground applied to your tachometer I suspect you will measure 5 volts on that...
That looks to me like a trim gauge for an older three wire sender.
Ground the gauge on the black wire and apply battery voltage to the yellow wire. Then measure the orange wire and see if it reads 5 volts.
