    Remove carb float bowl and check float/ needle valve….maybe clean inside of carb….spray carb cleaner and an air hose should do it…

    Also, no air filter on these motors….just that little plastic elbow type air intake to keep rain out of carb…

    Also, use some very small zip- ties/ tie-wraps to secure ends of fuel line in place of those little clip rings that are prone to corrosion….another item, a small in- line chain saw type fuel filter will keep junk out of your carb…

    Replace all old fuel lines with some clear/ green colored lines from the chain saw store….also replace that pet- **** with a plastic, chain saw type.

    I knew a guy who fished the rock jetties which were bad to snag anchors…he started using concrete blocks for anchors….lots cheaper to replace…

    Don’t recall the plug number, but run 50:1 mixture….drain/ check/ refill lower unit with 80-90 marine gear lube. One screw removes carb…super simple with a needle valve/main jet set up….

    I’ve been running Tanaka 3.0 since 1983 on my canoe…they are dead simple motors to operate and repair if needed….IF you can find parts. For $50 go ahead and buy it….it’ll most likely run for years.

    Seems like Bondo’s suggestion is the perfect solution…then put some silicone under the base before you bolt it down to help keep water out..

    My guess is the Salt Off is a type of acid and dissolving the calcium/salt causing the foam…looks to be working well….

    Maybe check the pee hole to be sure it’s open…..before totally screwing up the motor with a bunch of stuck bolts?
