I remember using a pice of plywood shaped like a surfboard. It worked pretty good until you leaned to far forward then it turned into a planer board/ submarine. Good times.

I agree. There are lots of ways to make things sound worse than they really are. My wife is really good at it. If the wind chill is -5 then that is what the temp is to hype things up. And if there a storm coming oh boy things are going to get really bad go get the bread milk.

I can’t remember the last time I was on a newer boat.I have never seen independent steering. I guess I’m living under a rock. I just go out on my 20 year old homemade skiff with a 02 Johnson or on my buddys 86 Tashmoo with an old Yamaha.

I used them for trout as well in Fl but with a red head and white body. That was in the 70’s and 80’s and they didn’t have the fancy tail yet. Just a straight body. Once in while the reds would grab it as well. No match to a live shiner / green back though and the all reliable shrimp.

It was a treat for as a kind. My mom would try mixing a wee bit of sugar and vinegar in with mayo and pass it off as the real deal. It was pretty close but I always knew. And then there powered milk made with sulfur water. I will never know how she thought I would be convinced it was real milk. 😂
