I bet i did but who knows! The floors were replaced on my boat prior to buying it so I haven't taken the deck out to this point.

    Two drain holes?

I will take your advice and cover with a solid piece of metal. I believe it will be a much needed fix on my otherwise great boat.

    Two drain holes?

I never thought to replace the piece, such a simple idea 🤓. I’m gonna try a plug first but that seems like a very logical next step

    Two drain holes?

You do see daylight thought that hole. I took out that plug to drain the water out of my boat last night. It’s been filling up. I think from there.

    Funny things you find when…

geez. I had a 1990 15 HP carb i had something like this happen. I got it for a cheap because it wouldn't run right after someone rebuilt carb. Someone left a small piece of gasket like 1/4 size of pinky nail in it. It wouldn't run for crap. Got that out and she ran great. it was on the top...

    Two drain holes?

Finally remembered to get a picture. As you can see I’ve got the traditional drain plug at the back of my boat any then this weird hole in the bottom. It’s too big for a traditional drain plug, so I don’t know what to put I there to fill it. I need something super shallow so it doesn’t drag the...

    Are you ready to puke?

This is a very low budget build. This boat sits out in my parents pond and gets exposed to the rain/sun all the time. I don't expect anything here to last forever. Boat probably will never get off their property. what sealant do y'all recommend? I need to coat both the transom and the floors...

1996 Johnson 25 HP long shaft J25RLEDA, sounds like its sucking air and dying

If I've got a salt water model in Indy we've got some major problems. the good news is my little 6 hp Johnson is running incredibly well! I am going to take this motor to a guy up the road to have him look at it. I could start replacing Reed valves, upper/lower crank seals, intake/bypass...

1996 Johnson 25 HP long shaft J25RLEDA, sounds like its sucking air and dying

I got down to the river today. Got the motor to start. It’s still bogging down and running rough. I can’t seem to get it ti idle. The pawls on my recoil broke, so I’ve got some repairs ti be done before I can continue troubleshooting.

Flywheel and throttle cam plate moving together

This old girl still has some good days left in her. I always like to see these old girls used vs turning into garage queens. She’ll be a wall hanger soon enough. I think my brickwork hanging in there ok. I had some bricks replace last winter so the mortar is a bit different color.

Flywheel and throttle cam plate moving together

I took the linkage apart and it was still soon the same thing. I even took the magneto plate off to inspect the arm. It was not stiff at all. I think you might be into something with the coils catching. I’ll put my locator ring on to make sure everything is lining up right. Guy before me put...
