Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,..... I carry a bar of Lava hand soap in all of my toolboxes,.... Not only is it great for cleaning yer hands after a job, it works Great to help with slipping belts,.... Just rub it against the inside of the belt, at idle, 'n yer squeaking should go away,.....

Ayuh,...... The idea is to remove any residual gasket material, 'n obviously care must be used,.... there should be clean iron, before the new gaskets are installed,.... I believe the allowable variation is .003",.... I have big air in my shop, so my die-grinders are air powered...

Ayuh,..... I use rol-lock abrasive discs on my right angle die grinder,...

Ayuh,...... Did you do as I suggested in post #13...??..?? The symptoms you say are/have happened, suggests the hull has a hog, or a rocker in it,.....

Ayuh,..... That means they are agreeing with my post #12,..... Running that manifold will cost you a new motor, because that manifold is rusted out,.... The gasket sealing surface is but a small part of a rotten manifold,... At some point, fairly soon, that manifold will dump raw water...

Ayuh,.... That manifold is junk, 'n needs to be replaced,....
