New problem. The bolt holes in the exhaust manifolds do not line up with the bolt holes on the risers! I will return the aftermarket risers and look for resers that fit !!

I was wrong. The hoses for the water come into the manifolds at the ends, just like on the original. Both ends have threaded holes to accommodate the port or starboard side. I purchased 2 stainless steel 1 Inch to 3/4 inch threaded/ Barb fittings.

There are a lot of missing snaps, so I'd prefer not to have to sew on a doubler. There should be a strong adhesive that I can use to attach a doubler. Anyone want to make a suggestion?

Good to know. Sounds like removing too much rust could make things worse. The right amount may be to only knock out the loose rust and leave the rest. All this may be moot. I may just replace the manifolds. I've been looking for them in lots of places.

How can you be sure that I would get water to enter the manifolds/cylinders? I can have the manifolds cleaned, resurfaced and pressure tested.
