The dwell is right at 30 engine idling about 900..1000 rpm...it runs very smooth and no lag when I Crack the throttle

Now as for dwell...what in your opinions should be good

My thoughts as well....I messed with it for a fair bit of time for it to just start working seems odd to me

Lol well I'm not really sure for 100%. I rechecked all wiring and connections...re set points and it fired up

The positive terminal goes to far left stud

That orange wire goes to the ground stud...it is negative off battery its just the wrong color wire...yellow is start terminal next is ignition .then starter by itself. Those other red wires on the terminal with orange go to that stud as well....it's definitely not original or color coated

Battery positive goes to left stud on solinoid....that orange wire that is with the other black ones on stud goes to the negative on battery

The big orange wire comes fe ground side of battery....the cable is wrong color

Yes sorry from left to.right....the red or orange wire going to that stud is ground not power... left big terminal is batt...small ones are start...and ign. And then to starter...that's how it's always been wired since I bought it...these problems are new

I.bought the one he suggested. It's wired from left to right...battery...start....ignition...starter

Ok I'll replace it...so what's left if there's no spark.

I have replaced solinoid with the serial you.mentioned. replaced terminal ends..took alt and coils to auto electric shop...all turn out great shape. I now have keyed ignition but still no spark from coil wire. Does this resistor wire affect starting or spark from coil as that's the only thing...

I have removed all the electrical tape and have found the resistor wire at its loop. We're do I get a new one or s it special wire
