If there is no play when torqued to correct (aka manual listed) torque reuse it.. Why are folks saying to replace it?

I put put the swivel pin in there and torque the two bolts down put steering arm on swivel pin and see if there is play. From the photo it looks alright to me but can be hard to tell from the keyboard

I was able to reconnect mine and cover with shrink sleeve. Best if you can solder the wires together and then shrink sleeve over or use a low temp solder butt splice

Sure this is fine. In the old days I used to squirt oil in through the spark plugs holes and bump the engine with coil disconnected. I also have done nothing some years and that is ok too, the engine will not be damaged if it sits without fogging for a couple months.
