Once you get the old wood out/cleaned up, when installing new, be sure that the exterior transom area is straight, not bulged in or out,and at the proper angle for your setup. I didn’t and had some exterior work that I had to do to make sure ever was true.
Yes. I have the same one. I seal the backside of a hole with plumbers putty, then good plastic on the side where you attaching the hose to the pump. Depending on the moisture level in the wood, I’ll sometimes add a secondary catch can so the moisture doesn’t get to the pump itself. Seal all hose...
Your welcome. What I’ve learned working at a marina is pulling the moisture out works fairly well. Yes heat lamps can dry an area but it could move the moisture away a bit also. We have used vacuum pumps with success quite often.
have been chasing an electrical issue on this boat for almost as long as I have owned it.
what style of bilge pump do you have? Those new style ones will self test for water Every few minutes. They kill a battery over time. I always install old school pumps that have a float.
Yeah….. thinking of carrying bear spray just to mow the lawn! My cordless hole puncher can’t be used in town, besides, I live right across the street from the sherifs department. They frown at loud noises!

Gee, I didn’t get the stab, heck, I don’t even get a flue shot ever. Call me what you want, but I haven’t been sick in many years. Still plugging away at 69 years old.
Reminds me of a guy in town. Refuses to get a car because they pollute. But his friend will pick him up with an old school diesel, blowing black smoke, take him shopping and drop him back off, clueless people are out there…..
A good pellet gun is pretty strong. I’d imagine you could find one you like and compare the specs to an equivalent.22 and make a decision. A neighborhood kid was messing with one and blew out my car side window by accident, from 40 yards away.
Looks a lot to me that you should dig out the launch area and put in a good base. Gravel and such. That alone will help with launching and retrieving. A good contractor would probably fix the underwater part good enough for a nicer surface.
A lot of those floats are the plastic type. They seem ok, but are saturated and to heavy. I’ve learned to just replace them. When it is running, look down the carb, you should see a mist, if there are any drips, it’s the float. It doesn’t show up when sitting.
Gee… reminded me of going down Siskiwit lake as a pre-teen. Going fishing and the little five horse outboard singing along. I happened to look back and the guy dow the lake was taking off, heading right for me! He was a bit of a distance away but if I didn’t look he would have got me. Hard to...
