    PCV Valve

Under the carb won’t make the carb dirty. Neither will hooking up to the flame arrester. I would hope you are using a true marine carb! I’ve seen a few that were not marine carbs and our shop won’t work on any unless they change the carb, or have us do it.

    Milky oil

I usually dump the oil, put in the cheapest oil you can get along with the filter. Add a half can of seafoam, run it for a couple minutes. Repeat a few times and when the oil looks good fill with your normal oil. Seafoam helps flush the water out. This works if the water leak isn’t too bad. In...

Bringing a bubble buster back to life.

I keep a container of acetone in arms reach whenever I’m rolling. It goes into the tub constantly. So far I’ve got ten years on the same rollers. When completely done for the day they get disassembled and totally cleaned. As I always say to the other techs, no job is done till all the tools and...

    Crazy happening in My area,.....

Interesting. I didn’t watch all the videos but, we on here know what happens when you bump the dock, sure a small ding in the gel coat, but a spider crack several inches long. Repairing something like that creates a rather large area. Using fiberglass/carbon fiber/or composite materials to me...

Gen 4 454 harmonic balancer screaming?

Grab the balancer with the belts off, see if it wiggles up or down and side to side. If so, it could be the crank as stated. Otherwise, sprinkle some water inside and outside the belt, if the noise goes away it is the belt, or something else. I did have a car that did that, it ate belts like...

    Extra Bilge Pump

Overview The word scupper comes from the 15th-century Middle English word escopier, which traces back to Old French meaning "to wash, clean, or to bail out/empty water". Over time, the linguistic root evolved to describe the physical drain hole itself rather than the action of clearing water...

    non alcoholic beer

Helped a buddy with a project several years ago, he said no drinking until we were done. He said he had beer in the truck, so I figured it was fine. When we got done, I opened the truck and there on the floor was brown paper bag with a six pack of odouls. In the heat, temperature in the 80’s...

    I can not believe

It’s treated like a speciality market. They switch designs constantly so if you need a certain part, it has to be made or acquired from a scrap yard. Some part’s are easy to get like engine parts because they are mass produced.

I was ‘That’ guy at the ramp coming in yesterday.

I was that guy around 20 years ago. Our lake has a very shallow launch back then, it’s nice now. I backed in and got the rear wheels off the pad, dropped a foot and was stuck bad! I had to get the neighbors at the cabin to pull me out! Took an hour to walk the mile and half to his place and get...
