    I'm confused. You say the prop hub spun, and then the engine bogs down. That is the exact opposite of what typically happens with a spun prop. Engine will usually rev high.

    Sorry, but thats just wrong. You pay the tax on the sale/purchase, whether you use the item or not. Do you list "tax cheat" on your marine surveyor business card as one of your qualifications? JMSO

    Agree on a price, then tell the seller you will pay the additional fees for him the register and title it in his name. Only after he has the new title, pay him the negotiated price plus the title fee.

    It may help to actually raise the motor 1/2". It may cause the prop to ventilate, but worth a try.

    You might want to check out the weight differences on the newer motors. They are much closer than you think. Only 15 to 50 pounds difference for many of them.

    Exactly. If you place a wedge between the hull and the bracket, so the mounting bracket is vertical, it will lower the motor several more inches deeper into the water. Problem solved, no new holes in the hull.
