    My set works for me. Possibly because the fuel tank and separating filter are on the same level. And possibly because my primer bulbs are positioned vertically ( arrow pointing up ).. If it doesn’t work for someone else, they can always pull the fuel line off the other motor as a temporary fix...

    you can't remove the cable from the sheathing. . There is a good chance the cable has frayed or the inner sheathing has failed. disconnect from motor AND the helm. does wheel now turn easily? if not, replace the helm. does cable move freely? If not, the cable is bound up inside -- replace it...

    Replace mount

    The "lip" on the top of the mount does nothing to hold the motor. The 4 bolts going through the transom bracket and the transom are what holds the motor. The "lip" is often inches above the transom, as the motor is mounted at the correct height to provide proper handling and performance.
