9.5 Motor doesn't start after turning off

Welcome to iBoats A few questions for you - Have the points been cleaned and properly gapped? Has the carb been completely cleaned and gone through? Has a "decarb" routine been done? When was the motor really serviced? The 9 1/2 HP are great little motors but they do require some maintenance.

    Sound deadening

I just feel compelled to say this ............. I agree with most people's suggestions but offer two altenatives....... forget the soundproffing and get a bigger Amp & Speakers......... turn it up and like majic you will not hear the motor and the cheapest way is to get earplugs.

Ordering parts from "MMI Marine" or "Steveston Marine"?

Just google the o-ring specific size and there are many options with very fast and cheaper shipping ;) Do Not try to install a broken o ring - it really will not work and only frustrate the situation.

Walmart/Amazon/Haror Freight all carry multi bit tiny screwdriver set and good to have around ;) They work fine since there are no torque specs all screws just need to be tight.

Whats the minimum speed that the hull will remain planed out? There is a sweet spot that allows your boat to cruise along ...... weather/wind can be a factor. Have you taken measurements prior to your trip? A handheld GPS can do a good job while tracking your distance and speed. Work the...

Please Help Identify my Astro Boat

You have found a data plate....... there is a link in my signature to a Boat Specs link. You will need to know the length and a photo would help. Use the link in my signature to find specs (since you have a serial number (which is prior to the HIN Hull Identification Number) it sounds like an...

Prepping the inside of a aluminum boat for sealant

I would suggest a brass wire brush since it does not react. Use the gluvit or coat it on the seams and rivets...... then use zinc chromate prep and then paint. Have fun!

    Bayliner Blank Gauge Cluster?

Original manufacturers rarely keep parts for older models beyond 5-7 years. You might look into boat scrap yards (rare) or attempt a repair of what you have yourself or at a body shop.

    Moves slow

Another way to chase that fault is use an old fashion timing light. You can use it to check which cylinder is not firing. As stated above - I bet you are on one cylinder. I had a similar situation on a V4 that dropped one cylinder and I could not achieve max rpm under load....... that turned...
