Not too hard to do.
Use a sharp punch (start with a brass punch then move onto steel if needed) and work on the broken key. They are normally softer then the shaft bu just take your time an a few srong raps should drive it out..... IF you see any movement then with a small chiesal get under...

Normal rule of thumb is at least 75% of the maximum rated power as per the data plate. 12 aluminum boats as an example are usually rated max 7.5 to about 10 hp you will get decent performance at the 75% point and the 4 mercury/tohatsu will still move the boat and a "ok"...

I have a Starcraft SS16 and the sad truth is - if your hull is aluminum it will go slower then a fiberglass with the same exact set up. 41 is near perfect for your set up. The "other boats" that are faster probably are not hauling the same weight ........... you are good ;)
