Advice to remove the damage keyway

Not too hard to do. Use a sharp punch (start with a brass punch then move onto steel if needed) and work on the broken key. They are normally softer then the shaft bu just take your time an a few srong raps should drive it out..... IF you see any movement then with a small chiesal get under...

    Disappointed!

As a retired soldier.......... my heart went out to ALL of the people involved in the "dog and pony" show. I can only fathom the amount of practice those military members did. I do not miss parades, formations or drill and ceremony!

    What size

Welcome to iboats! Normal rule of thumb is at least 75% of the maximum rated power as per the data plate. 12 aluminum boats as an example are usually rated max 7.5 to about 10 hp you will get decent performance at the 75% point and the 4 mercury/tohatsu will still move the boat and a "ok"...

You do realize the size of a space that an adult rodent can penetrate is the size of a dime. Chicken wire will keep out the chickens but not the mice

1997 Landau 1650 need more speed

Welcome to iboats! I have a Starcraft SS16 and the sad truth is - if your hull is aluminum it will go slower then a fiberglass with the same exact set up. 41 is near perfect for your set up. The "other boats" that are faster probably are not hauling the same weight ........... you are good ;)
