    Rain needed

The reservoir elevation gauge is about 6 feet above the waterline right now by me. Outlook bad.

    My Season By The Numbers

I'm at that on fuel just in the last month alone. I go by smiles. If I'm smiling, it don't matter!

    My 84 4winns horizon 195 project.

I got the coolest response from a friend on the water today. I was running wide open toward him and he was cruising back. He goes to me "that thing looks badass coming toward you. Like a dart. Little chine walk, most the thing is out of the water, looks bad. ass." I call that a success.

Manifolds (Trying to figure out what I am looking at)

Risers are in. It is deceiving looking outside in how high the static height is. Water basically floats at flapper height. Should be good now. I went out and ran it and all seems well. Curious though, should I go and retorque the studs after a few heat cycles? I typically do with the bolts but...

    I have a leak.

True but, it also was all new from the restoration. I don't think it would've happened immediately but if it had started later I would agree. And again I thought it would've shown up in the original float test. But things happen. While I don't want to, it looks like I am going to have to pull...

    I have a leak.

So I checked and tightened the boots with no change. Looked around and it definitely is coming from the Y-pipe mating area. My 3 thoughts are as follows: Y-Pipe o-ring Hydraulic hose block gasket Continuity kit screw. (had to retap and went through, sealed with 5200 but may leak?) I got...

I've been washing the truck extra in hopes it will rain.

    Rain needed

I run a drinking water facility in central NJ that happens to have it's own pumped storage reservoir. This is the lowest it's been since it was constructed. We had ~4.5" of rain since July 23rd.... 1/3 normal and we are at 30 consecutive days with no rain fall at all. I'm loving it outside of...

Outdrive tight after steering pin and lower bushings replaced

Did you hit down the ring with a mallet and recheck the clearance a few times? Mine took a few cycles of that before everything held and felt right. I am also going to assume it was originally assembled with the nylon bushing?

    The End

Supposed to be 80s the next few days. I'm heading out on the water in a bit.

    Covid!

Both are. Dad has been seeing a cardiologist regularly since he's 25 due to blood pressure issues and even more so lately to get cleared for the neck and back surgery. And she had a 6 week monitor done to confirm everything is okay and that cutting out caffeine for her will control it for now...

    Covid!

Hope you all feel better. My only run in with it was February of last year. My GF, Parents, and myself all got it within a day or two of each other (possibly from the same person if my math maths). I was last to show symptoms and first to rebound... I also worked 3 days with it before realizing...

Just be that guy.... bow in.

Bought my first boat to cut, gut and rebuild from bow to stern, including engine. Killed my back and suffered the wrath of the fiberglass demons

It could but a good heater would generate very little for the amount it would heat. And it wouldn't be sealed perfectly but that is a valid point. I usually have a 4 gas running if I do that though... just in case I'd rather not kill myself. At least a CO monitor.

In my experience, once you start creeping below 60F, poly can be a SOB. Epoxy can depending on the type used but even then also won't work too well. I'd probably make a enclosure from plastic tarp or something and use a big kero/propane heater to get it warm for the work.

    1987 3.0L water in oil

Just saying... for ~7k you can have a complete drop in engine with new everything delivered to your house with a 3 year warranty. Or hunting around used you should be able to find a good runner for ~1.5k. (Those are north east prices. May be cheaper or more expensive elsewhere.) You're looking...
