    or as my wife refers to it as "the ugly f***in boat"....lol Currently planning on turning it into an open floorplan fishing boat. Has an OMC 175 (ford v8 302) and stringer outdrive (engine runs good and the outdrive runs in forward and reverse, but tilt gear is missing and rubber boot is shot)...

    Typical trasnom Thickness

    1976 viking Deckboat with OMC 175 (ford 302 v8) and stringer outdrive w/rubber boot at transom. Since teh outdrive does not physically connect to the transom, and all the load is directed towards the stringers, typically how thick would this transom be?

    Merc 470 question

    looking at a 78 bayliner donor boat with the 4cyl merc 470 setup...i know the merc 470's are not very desirable, but was wondering if the outdrive is compatible with other powerplants, 4cyl or 8 cyl ?? i can buy this whole boat and trailer for 250...figured the trailer maybe worth the hour...

    OMC sterndrive placement options??

    have a 1976 Viking Deck Boat with a ford small block and an OMC sterndrive (stringer??). From what i have been told by the previous owner, the sterndrive is shot. Aside from rebuilding this sterndrive, is there another sterndrive that i can use?? thanks
