    Sticky Volvo steering

'07 5.7 gxi / dps with power steering (100 hours). It seems fine other than when you first go to move the wheel in either direction there's a little 'stiff' spot. Having it like that makes it difficult to steer when it's choppy. After it 'breaks free' of its tight spot its one finger...

    What would you ask?

A fella has offered me a 2007 Campion 705 sport cuddy / 5.7 / DP 100 hrs. and cash for my boat. I'm moving into a 280-290 Sundancer in the spring and wouldn't mind having a boat in the off season. How much cash difference? I can't find many 705's for sale that new. Keep in mind it'll be sold...

Boat trade plus cash... opinions please

I'm moving into a bigger boat next spring (280 or 290 Sundancer) and have mine for sale. I was going to go without a boat until then but I'm too addicted to floating around to not have a boat... even for the winter! I've been offered a trade plus cash for mine. Mine is a 2006 Sea Ray 240...

We had the good fortune of a really nice day today and I got a bunch of good pics... and here's one of 'em. That 'mountain' there is Saltspring island. We were heading south to Brentwood Bay... yeah... I sped up to take the picture! That's 46 mph Cheers :) I have a pic @ 2048 x 1536 if anyone...

Polishing SS props for Bravo 3

I've seen some beautiful polished props for the Bravo 3. Does anyone know for sure if this is this an 'asthetics-only' improvement or does it actually get you some economy or speed or something? They're definitely nice to look at...

    Cup or different prop?

2006 240 Sundancer. 5.7 mag mpi / bravo 3 (2.2 ratio) Gps'd at 43.9 @ 5200 rpm with 2 people, full fuel, 3/4 water and a decent load of junk in it (and a full cooler). Merc says 4800 - 5000 It has 22" pitch props on it now... should I cup these or find some 24's?

Importing a boat from the US to Canada

I just brought a boat back so I thought I'd post what I had to do. I read a pile of conflicting advice online so here ya' go; The trailer is treated as a vehicle so you have to follow those guidelines which means you'll need the registration, title, bill of sale and a copy of the sales agreement...

    Pardon me Don S...

May I have your opinion on a couple things please? I'm bringing home a 2006 240 Sundancer this weekend. I boat in the salt and since this boat was bought new for the lake... the 5.7 mag mpi is raw water cooled still. San Juan Manufacturing doesn't make a 'manifolds in' kit for this engine...

    Attn. Puget Sound boaters :)

I'm bringing a boat back from Portland OR to Sidney BC... one option is to have it hauled from Portland to Olympia or Tacoma then cruise back through Puget Sound / San Juan islands / Gulf islands and viola'! Since I've never boated in Puget Sound... barring a storm is the it passable this time...

    Which prop would you use

I have tried 2 props and can't decide. Which would you use? This is the boat... a 1992 24' Sea Ray cuddy with a 5.7 / alpha (1.5-1 gearing), 400 (adult) hours on it and runs great. So with 2 people and full fuel and water... Both props are Mirage ss units. 19"p : wot = 44 mph @ 4050 rpm and 32...

    Engine cooking

The hot dog thread reminded me of this. Our local 'boat journal' has the odd recipe in there. Cooking prep and times similar to a crock pot on high. We tried a veggie/spice/rice in tinfoil and it was yummy (and fun). Anyone else tried this?

    I felt like whining...

Gas went up to $5.58 a gallon today and it's not even close to the 'peak' time of year yet. I can see myself floating around in a 8 knot single diesel soon...

Happy New Years to all of you.

    1997 U-17

Has anyone ever had any experience with one of these? I'm curious what they're like in a 2' chop at speed and what the fit and finish is like. Thanks.
