    ouch !

I bought a tv for the boat, a little Toshiba 13" color / remote / vcr / 12/110 volt unit. I was worried about scratching it up so I left it in the plastic 'til we got to the boat. We arrived and started to load up our stuff. I passed my friend my son, who he put on the deck. The cooler... on the...

    Sounder transducer problem?

I've got a Laurance sounder/fish finder with one of these through hull transducers. The unit is reading incorrectly more and more often. It takes quite a while to get a 'fix' on the bottom and then loses it as soon as you move. Water conditions aren't bad and I'm positive about the readings...

I'll start a new post because it's a little off topic... what's your favorite site for file sharing? I use winmx, it's as good or better than napster was.

What's the difference between an 1157 and a 2057 bulb? They look the same to me.

    Crazy stuff

A buddy got his boat running this weekend... it's a home-made 21' welded aluminum with a 454 / 8-71 / intercooled / bravo drive (715 h.p. on dyno test)... initial testing (after a short break in) shows a stable 85 mph @ 5000 rpm(gps) and there's still lots of throttle. The picture's not so good...

    Property taxes

What do they cost you? I got my bill Friday and it's $2500 this year (we can apply for a $470. grant). We're in an average sized house / lot in a decent area.

    Fish killer

I work for the Regional District, we look after the potable water / sewer /storm drains. One of our past projects was / is Raey creek, a small stream that was a little worse for wear due to neglect and pollution. A lot of work from the local government, fisheries, and volunteers have gone into...

    Not impressed

What's with some people? Yesterday, my wife, son and I went for a little boat ride into one of the quiet sheltered bays here. We met up with the wife's brother and family. They were anchored and had some friends from out of town with them. The 'friends' had a 26' Fountain with an impressive 540"...

    I'm venting!

I tuned up my boat... new plugs, cap, rotor, wires, oil, fuel and oil filters. To reward me a few weeks later it starts to run like a bag of dung. I went over everything I did with a fine tooth comb but it's getting worse and worse... in utter frustration I do a compression test and they're all...

    A very important reminder!

Always check the easiest things first! <br />Yesterday I went to start my boat, I ran the bilge blower, put the key in and... nothing! Utterly disappointed I got out my test light and started tracing wires. 10-15 minutes into the job I thougth nah, couldn't be that... I went up to the bridge and...

    paint remover

I'd like to remove the name that's across the side of my bridge. It's been painted on and recoated several times by the looks of it. I know I'll have to wet sand and polish to finish it up and I'll replace the name with the same sized decal to hide what still shows through (it's just too messy...
