Volvo 5.0 OSI-GF Fuel Flow Indication

Thanks all, my Raymarine MFD was showing fuel flow from both engines but the port engine quit showing it after about a half day and I wasn't certain if was measured or calculated and if calculated how accurate it was. The starboard engine is still showing fuel flow and the only connection...

Volvo 5.0 OSI-GF Fuel Flow Indication

I recently purchased a 2008 Chaparral Signature 310 with 5.0 OSI-GF engines and it has a Raymarine Axiom 9+ multi function display that didn't have the fuel manager display enabled. I had it configured and working for about half a day then it quit working (loss fuel flow indication on port...

    Stain removal on cushions

Avoid using anything that has bleach in it, several vinyl repair places told me the reason the stitching failed prematurely on the seat covers was from chemical attacking the thread. There are several "non chlorine" based vinyl cleaners out there but I wouldn't care to recommend any because I...

    2008 Chaparral Signature 310 Trailering

For whatever reason Chaparral decided to increase the radar arch height on this model 310, making the bridge clearance 11' 2" so adding 22" for height on the trailer plus accounting for draft gets it over the 13' 6" legal height for highways (W/O the radar or speakers attached).

    2008 Chaparral Signature 310 Trailering

I checked the requirements for each state we plan to trailer it and 10'7" beam doesn't trigger having an escort for width. Just need a permit, "Over Size Load" banners and corner flags during day light and corner lights after dark. My main concern with the boat I'm purchasing is the height...

    2008 Chaparral Signature 310 Trailering

I saw a post where someone was asking if the radar arch could be lowered/tilted for trailering but he didn't get a reply, only assumptions & guesses. Has anyone had any experience with it? I'm also looking for dimension of the boat to order a trailer. Does anyone have these dimensions or know...

    Volvo Drive Issues

Considering buying another boat with Volvo engines and thought I read there was one of them that was made with synthetic parts that was know to crack but can't find which series it is. Found several posts indicating I should stay away from XDP drives. Is this the only one with frequent problems?

    5.7 Venturi Cluster

Update on project. Looks like there's more to it than just having one hole difference. I checked the hole size diameter between the two and the hole sizes differ as well. Decided to harvest the tubes from an old 5.0 cluster since they were the same size as the one with one less hole. Running...

    5.7 Venturi Cluster

Thanks all, drilling another hole was also option I was thinking about but concerned it may lean out or bog down under certain load condition because it isn't getting enough fuel. I agree a rebuilder involvement could certainly be possible. I reached out to the seller of the carburetor who...

    5.7 Venturi Cluster

I purchased a used mercarb on ebay (part numbers for carburetor and venturi cluster are listed above). It's in great shape, the screws aren't worn out as though someone has had it opened numerous times so I assumed there would not have been a need for modifications. The guy sold it because it...

    5.7 Venturi Cluster

I bought carburetor for a 5.7 vortec engine, part number 861245A1, which had the correct venturi cluster in it, part number 802745T. I'm not sure if the aspirater nozzle for one side is suppose to have more holes in it than the other side. Could anyone tell me if this is supposed to be like...

Mercruiser 5.0 upgrade to 5.7 ECM question

So I've replaced my 2001 5.0 alpha 1 gen 2 engine with a 5.7 (both vortec) which has the thunderbolt V ignition system. I kept the 2 bbl carburetor and replaced the 5.0 venturi cluster with the 5.7 cluster so I feel the fuel/air side addressed. I bought a knock control module & sensor and my...
