    I've never sailed a shoal keel (short and heavy) but I've heard that their kinda' sluggish. Bilge keel like that I would think would be kind of the same ... big and bulky, so it won't heel over and go.

    Have you been greasing the swivel on the outdrive? Grease zerk is on the front of the intermediate housing behind the red plastic "bolt." If that's not greased, exhaust gas can get in there.

    I have half a dozen tools - jack and impact wrench - that I bought at HF. Bought 'em as disposable tools because I only needed them for a single project. Figured I go cheap and not worry about it. Haven't managed to kill one of 'em yet.

    Well, it's sad that she's outta' service. Cool old ship like that would be neat out at sea. But, I scuba dive some of the sunken ships off the Gulf Coast. They make really amazing environments to go enjoy the wildlife ... and honestly you get to really see a lot of the ship that way too. LOL...

    I normally wade the rivers, so I've never actually fished out of one. But from what I've seen looking at the boats themselves - they're setup really well and a great plaform.

I had to get a boater's safety certificate when I was under 16 in Michigan, but after I had a driver's license I was legal.     Here in TN, the rivers vary in terms of how easy they are to navigate. Lot's of jon / row boats with small outboards. The guides will use something more like an aluminum center console, like a Sea Ark. Or many of them use Drift Boats too. Of course kayaks, canoes and the small plastic boats...

    The ones I saw online were out of Arkansas. About 20' like this one, offset outboard (with weird tunnel offset) ... about 30HP on some of them. I'll be honest: I don't get how they work. But, some are legit built that way.

    My first thought is that due to the offset of the outboard, the torque and weight are causing the list. I've never seen that setup; and frankly it looks like someone cutout 1/3 of the boat on the port sponson. Are you able to center the outboard?

    Actually, they called it maintenance and upgrades. Not sure what they did, but from what the MODs have heard so far it was on purpose and for the better. Wish we knew more.
