150 Mariner no power to get on plane.

I moved from sea level to about 6000ft. I changed out my jets (no adjustment screws on these carbs) according to the Merc specs, and had a mechanic give the engine a once over, check compresion, linkages, and change timing. He said the only other thing I really needed to do was go down 2 or 3...

Mariner 150 - High altitude, changed jets, no go!!!

I recently moved from just above sea level to approximately 6000 feet. I have already changed the jets on my 150 and in neutral the engine runs like a champ. Idle and throttle up are great. As soon as I drop it into gear though it just dies. It's a quick death if I try to throttle up, or a slow...

I recently inherited a MotorGuide AutoGuide motor with the wireless foot control. Since it is in much better condition than the old Motorguide Brute currently on my boat I'd like to switch it out. But I need to know a few things. The only number I could find on the motor was a single sticker...

    Measuring steering cables

I need to replace the steering on my bass boat, and a friend just replaced his with hydraulic (I would love to do that too but don't have the money).
He pulled the "old" steering system out and said "Here, if you can use it it's your's. Steering, who needs steering?!?!?

WOT only when my motor is in the mood???

My 150 Mariner idles fine, and even motors along at about 10 mph with no problem.
When I give it the throttle, it does one of two things. It either responds as expected, jumps on plane and the world is beautiful. I can even slow it down to avoid the monster wakes from the cruisers out on...
