You can't see it moving under the plate?

Replacing ignition on old 165hp GM inline-6

I dropped a Merc 292 in place of the locked up 250 (165) in my old Crestliner. I put one of these in it just to clean things up a bit while getting away from points...

HELP Throttle and Steering Cable Lengths

Do you still have the originals? If so you can get the part number off of them or just pull them and measure. If not there are online guides to help you figure out the measurement.

    your opinion

Either rebuild as a stroker or pick up a stroker short or long block. Closed loop cooling systems have been around forever. Considering the year you have, you can probably order the parts needed.

    Did you ever wonder?

Askholes lol. That's great. And all totally true.

    Experience Loopers

Minimum GPS/chartplotter and a reliable depth finder. Nice to have, radar & AIS (especially where the larger commercial traffic is, they can see you better if you are transmitting via AIS).

    2001 mercury 125 2+2

Start looking at your fuel system. Make sure your suction point and/or ADBV aren't clogged solid or stuck. Inline filter if you have one. As stupid as this sounds, primer bulb in correct orientation (seen it happen, I dunno how anything ran with it backwards). Any work recently done?

    Misters

This (and especially the last part) is spot on. If this is your reaction to people trying to help you because you have absolutely no idea what you're doing (and you seem to contradict yourself), perhaps the interwebs isn't for you. If you want someone to kiss your ass and tell you nice things...

    Part Identification

That's exactly what it is. I'd be less worried about a zinc here and more concerned with where the hell all the blades went.

Just thought I'd share a nice photo.

Not exactly, but it isn't far away. We'll go in just for fun, sometimes up to the Harbor like twice a season. I have no problem moseying right up to the Connie: Lower Craighill front range (the pictured lighthouse) I almost made the mistake of buying; thankfully I was massively outbid lol.

Info needed on LARGE Boats / Research Vessels (100ft+)

If the retired CG cutter ACUSHNET was still for sale (it might be, I dunno) that would be perfect. A little bigger than you want but well suited to that environment (she was homeported out of Ketch for 12 yrs before decomm).

    Problems with oversized boat motor

That's double what you usually see for a jon that size, plus the extra weight of a much older outboard. Best case scenario she just sits ass low in the water, worst case scenario it rips the transom off. Basically, FAFO lol.
