    1954 Evinrude Fleetwin

I just picked up another toy for my collection today. I just couldn't leave this one alone. I just got me a 1954 Fleetwin that hasn't ran for many years. I found a pair of old J4J plugs in it, so that tells me that it's been a while since it's been ran. The coils are the good old "antique...

1947 5HP Sea King. Nice running classic :)

Roughly a year ago, I took a nice long drive and went and purchased a 1955 Johnson CD-12 from a guy and he threw in a 1947 Sea King 5hp in the deal. I just got this old bugger running tonight and it's appears to be a good responsive and mechanically sound machine. I pulled the flywheel off and...

    1hp Tanaka

So, who would be a good source of parts for one of these? I have a nice looking little drink mixer, but it just needs starter pawls.

    The Lark IV runs

Well, I finally got around to starting the last of the trio today. The 1962 Lark IV had to get a $67 investment, for a completely new ignition system and all the rems from a buck toothed varmit nest cleaned out, but it runs like a champ now. I was able to start this beast with the hand starter...

You guys are gonna love this.

I just called a guy today about a a free boat with motor and stuff. I told him that I wasn't really interested in the boat, but would be willing to offer him cash for the motor. Well, it turns out that he offered to sell me three motors in a package deal. I got the pics of all three motors...

    A new drink mixer :D:D

So, yesterday, I went to a Napa parts house to pick up a socket, because I was doing some work on my girlfriend's car. As I was pulling out of the parking lot, low and behold, I seen an outboard motor sitting at this little second hand shop acrossed the way. I pulled up, parked my car and got...

Float issues on '59 35hp with rebuild

Usually, I am kind enough to offer my best advice to new members here, but this time, I am seeking some input. I just rebuilt the carb on my '59 RDS Johnson and it appears that I can't get the gas to quit flowing out, when I charge up the primer bulb. I just rebuilt it with a new kit (new...

I would like to know, why replying to old threads is such a bad thing.

So, what's the big deal? Just curious. It's about as harmless as stepping on a crack in the sidewalk, it seems to me. So far, my mother's back hasn't been broken as a result.:D

    My 40$ investment

Sunday night, I bought a 1959 Johnson 36hp from a neighbor. So far, it looks like it has great potential. It has 120 psi on both cylinders and the coils look new, so I'm that much ahead of the game. I can probably just get by stripping and repainting this motor, to make it like new again. It...

    Rebuild Updates: 1941 Johnson HD-20

SO, today I decided to pick away at this project a little more. I took the front half of the crank case out of the chem-dip and cleaned it all up. I installed the pistons and the crank too and everything is in good shape.:D Here are a couple pics if this little booger. It's funny seeing an...

British Anzanis. Anyone seen one here in the U.S.?

I read about these in "The Old Outboard Book" They appear to be about the size of the old Neptune Mighty Mites. Has anyone seen one of these boogers?:)

ISO Crank, rod and piston set for Johnson HD-20

I'm in the midst of restoring the powerhead for my 1941 Johnson HD-20 and I'm going to need a crankshaft and at least a number 2 piston and rod set. If the number 1 looks good, I'll be interested in that too. I went to the AOMCI website and it looks like their ad page is currently down.

    A glutton for punishment. LOL

Today, I picked up a 1958 Evinrude Fisherman 5.5hp (5516)with a tank for 40 bucks.:( I must have renewed my addiction, one more time. It is complete and everything seems tight, but the guy I bought it from seized it up while he was out fishing with it. He claims the line on the tank was...

Some cool new motors I picked up

Well, today, I picked a couple old motors from a guy and they look to be some decent restoration projects. One is a 1955 Johnson 5 1/2hp Model CD-12 and the other is a 1947 Sea King 5hp Model 74GG. I checked the compression on the old Johnson, after I sprayed the cylinders down with WD-40 and...
