    No fire on either cylinder

Glue the magnet back in. You'll need to clean the magnet and the flywheel REALLLY good!!! Use a thin hard drying glue, or super glue. You might have to sand the magnet and take a couple thousands off so it fits good.

What got me was I took my truck in for a "tune up" Got the bill and saw the labor was twice what it should have been?? They had a trainee handing the tech parts so they charged me double labor. I questioned the boss and he said the trainee has to learn??? I fixed that. Paid with a check and...

Are Chrysler motors junk and to be avoided?

I started working as a new boat prep/rigger in 1986. I thought that was the best job I ever had. Loved it and my fix it myself attitude really came to the front. Now with the video's on the net you can just about fix anything. Still like tinkering with outboards the most.

Are Chrysler motors junk and to be avoided?

I've had Forces for over 30 years and went to a single Mercury EFI 225 Should have stuck with the Forces. Friends Yamaha with Direct Injection(??) (bought used) ended up costing thousands to get running and stay that way. I live in Florida and any Force found here is probably salt damaged. $$$$$

Can I swap factory tilt/trim from Mercury version 85hp to US Marine version 85?

A year?? Wow!! Thanks for the update. Have you done a compression test? Do a Starting Fluid test. Start motor, spray SF around the intake side of the motor. If the spray makes any difference in the way it runs then it's sucking air somewhere????

    Fried wires to Regulator/Rectifier.

Those Amphenol connectors SUCK!!! Time causes the connection/grease to loose it's connection and it will spark causing the heat and burning inside the connection. Use a better butt connectors and forget the grease.

    Force 120 or 125?

The Black/blue motors started in 1987 The 125 was made until 1989 then changed to 120. No difference just a different rating. One measured at the prop the other at the block(I think). The Ignition packs are Blue they are OEM until 1990 then they came out with Black packs/coils. The black coils...

What would make a flywheel hard to spin? Starter won't spin it.

Usually when comp is low between the 2 middle cylinders the head gasket is the culprit, But that's over now. You'll love the new motor. The dealer will sell the parts and charge like new prices. Keep it and make some $$$ for yourself.

1995 Force 120 no water pumping through powerhead

FYI: that idle screw isn't for the idle, That screw is for the air/fuel mix screw. It meters the amount of air/fuel burning at idle. The idle is set using the towershaft.

    Attempting a motor rebuild

Just remember to buy the Wiseco wrist pins and rings. They won't work right unless you do.
