    Best location for a battery

On a 14' fishing boat where the battery is only used to power the fish finder and nav lights, would it be better to locate the battery box toward the front of the boat? The motor does not have electric start or alternator, so the battery will get charged via battery charger after each use.

Wrench on the flywheel nut to turn the crank?

Okay, I have been trying to get a 1957 model fd-11 Johnson 18hp running again. Gas tank compatability

Can the gas tank from a 1957 FD 11 model 18hp fast twin Johnson be used with a 1966 Johnson 20hp engine? I know the oil mix between the motors is different, with the 1957 at 24:1 and the 1966 is 50:1 but can the same gas tank be used?

The boat is 14 feet long, is rated for 3 people, 20hp max tiller, beam is around 50" and freeboard...

    1957 18hp Johnson seized

I have a 1957 fd11k 18hp Seahorse Johnson motor that last ran in 2004. At that time it needed a tune-up and was taken off the boat and put in a boathouse where it sat until about 1 month ago. The motor was not fogged prior to sitting for a few Wisconsin winters. I tried to pull the motor...
